The OReGO program allows participants, especially drivers of electric or fuel-efficient vehicles, to receive a fuel tax credit in exchange for paying per mile driven. As part of the program, drivers who would normally pay fuel taxes will be credited for the fuel taxes they’ve already paid at the pump. This credit is applied against the road usage charge, ensuring that participants only pay for the miles they drive, rather than being double-charged with both fuel taxes and the road usage charge.
